Kobe System
Welcome back to Sports Shout Outs of the Week. As another week of sports passes us by, I have to acknowledge the stand out performances of the week past. Let me begin with the best player in the NBA, even at 32 years old, Kobe Bryant. If you haven’t heard, Kobe Bryant is leading the league in scoring with over 30 points a game and this past week he had four 40 point games, IN A ROW. You have to respect the fact that Kobe Bryant is the biggest competitor in the NBA and even at 32 years old he is still the most dominant player. Most people doubted Kobe’s ability to consistently put up numbers this season with all of his injuries and his age, but Kobe has answered the call and has showed the world yet again that he is STILL the same Kobe Bryant we’ve all seen in the past. This summer he went to Germany for a knee surgery that is not yet legal in the United States, and Kobe states that he is now “feeling better than he has felt in a LONG time,” and it shows. Even Kobe’s assists are up from the past few seasons, so he’s not just ball hogging, he’s improving his teammates scoring as well. Hey, maybe it’s the shoes.
Moving right along, I must give credit to Tom Brady and the Brady bunch for DEMOLISHING Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos on Saturday night. I knew it would happen, but I honestly didn’t know it would get THAT ugly, THAT quick. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were heavily favored over the Broncos, but to go into halftime up 35-7 is whole different story. Tom Brady threw for 363 yards and a record tying 6 touchdowns against a pretty good Broncos defense, and easily could have thrown for more if the team wasn’t up by so many points. So shout out to Tom Brady, although he faces a much bigger challenge this weekend when he faces the Baltimore Ravens and their Hall of Fame filled defense.
